In Memoriam Hieremiae

Inner Spaces, April 4 2022, Auditorium San Fedele, Milano

A commission supported by the Carlo Maria Martini Foundation, in keeping with the tradition of the San Fedele Cultural Foundation, which has a long history of collaborations devoted to the creation of new works exploring the dialogue between art and faith.

Through a symbolic and evocative musical approach, the work reconstructs the sonic, environmental, human, and spiritual dimensions of the experience of the prophet Jeremiah, who was thrown by his enemies into a deep pit filled with mud. The persistence of a righteous man, Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, moved by the prophet’s plight, ultimately succeeds in convincing the king to save Jeremiah from death.
