Silence can take many forms, both in music and in everyday life. This project is a collection of four acousmatic pieces, born from the desire to explore silence as a subject of compositional inquiry through its different forms and uses.
The suite was composed with the intention of guiding the listener into an experience of silence. The four pieces explore different themes and materials: the evocation and suggestion of silence emerge through appearance and disappearance, waiting, the memory of a familiar voice, residual sounds, and the soundscape itself.
