Created for the event series Silenziopiù | Back to Silence, conceived by Francesco Giomi for Gallleriapiù, Solo Silence is an electroacoustic performance that explores absence, anticipation and surprise through an investigation of the perceptual threshold.
The performance develops from residual and synthetic sound materials, used to investigate the absence of specific spectral bands and the limits of auditory perception. These are combined with fragments of pre-existing sound material, removed from their original context and transformed into evocative elements. Through the progressive rarefaction and recomposition of the sound material, Solo Silence creates a listening experience in which what is withheld becomes as significant as what is produced, giving rise to an emotional dimension grounded in anticipation, uncertainty, and surprise.
